Marketing & Communication

Marketing Services

Banners

As of the Fall 2023 semester, we are no longer offering this service.  We suggest waiting until the new brand campaign is launched unless you have an urgent need. If you must have a backdrop before the launch, University Marketing and Communication can guide you regarding vendors and design.

Business Cards and Letterhead

The university has a storefront account set up with an established university supplier.

Each department should appoint one individual to order stationery for everyone within that department. You must request an account from the Director of Marketing to get started. Once your account is created, you will receive complete instructions on ordering your letterhead, envelopes, and business cards.

Creative Services

Every department has distinct goals, audiences, and messaging requirements. Our experienced design team is here to collaborate with you, ensuring that your marketing efforts align seamlessly with the university’s overall branding and strategy. A consultation is essential to a successful project.

Why Schedule a Consultation?

  • Tailored Approach: A one-size-fits-all solution does not always capture the essence of your department’s offerings. Our consultation process lets us understand your needs and craft strategies tailored to your department’s goals.
  • Expert Guidance:  Our skilled design professionals bring a wealth of expertise to your project. Whether you want to revamp your materials or start from scratch, we can provide valuable insights to enhance your marketing approach.
  • Mission Alignment:  We prioritize projects that align with the university’s mission and strategic plan. During the consultation, we'll assess the compatibility of your project with our mission and capabilities.

What to Expect

  • Initial Discussion:  When you schedule a consultation, we'll initiate an initial discussion to delve into your department's marketing objectives, target audience, and desired outcomes.
  • Project Evaluation:  Our team will evaluate the project's alignment with our mission and capacity. If your project fits our scope, we'll explore potential strategies together.
  • Guidance and Direction:  If your project doesn't fit within our current capabilities or goals, don't worry. We're here to offer guidance on how to proceed. We can suggest resources, tools, or outsourcing options to help you achieve your goals.
  • Collaborative Planning:  For projects that align with our expertise, we'll collaboratively plan the next steps, including timelines, deliverables, and creative concepts.

Digital Signage and Marquee

Have an event, meeting, or club to promote? Submit a slide image (jpg or png) in 16:9 ratio. While we can also accept PDFs, they are not the preferred format. If you submit a flyer (8.5 x 11), it will likely have to be reformatted by our team to fit the ratio of a television screen and improve legibility. If you don’t have artwork or a flyer, send in the details, and we will create a slide for you.

The "marquee" refers to the electronic sign located on University Parkway (parking lot A). The marquee is limited to text.

Submit your content for digital signage or the marquee via email to [email protected].

University social media accounts

University Marketing and Communication maintains the primary accounts for the university on the following platforms:

For assistance establishing and updating your departmental or program social media accounts, please contact us at [email protected].

Report Inappropriate Content

Occasionally, abusive accounts emerge on social media platforms. The university cannot directly manage or eliminate the content on other user accounts. Nevertheless, if you come across unsuitable content online, there are measures you can implement to notify the platform, which could result in the content's removal. Should you encounter any abusive content, we urge you to report it and share the link with us at [email protected]. This will enable us to include it in our records of abusive accounts.

Photography Services

University Marketing and Communication handles the photography needs for major university events (excluding Athletics) and the Office of the Chancellor. These events include the following:

  • Graduation ceremonies (December and May)
  • Freshman Convocation
  • Academic Honors
  • Strategic photoshoots (to capture assets for recruitment purposes)

Our office is unable to coordinate photography for any other event. You will need to book and pay for a freelance photographer (see recommendations below) or use your smartphone to capture your event (see tips for taking great photos), which is ideal for use on social media platforms.

University Marketing and Communication is not responsible for any charges billed by off-campus photographers for the use of their photographs or charges for any stock photography. Suppose you use the work of an outside photographer, copyrighted photographs, or other copyrighted art in your publication or on your website. In that case, you, as the client, must pay for it.

Also, be aware that guests or minors not enrolled at the university should sign a release form. It is recommended that a sign be posted at events informing attendees that they are being photographed.

Freelance Photographers

These suppliers are registered with our PeopleSoft accounting software and may be paid from an invoice directed to your department.
