Campus Recreation & Wellness

The Natatorium will be closed for resurfacing of the pool starting Wednesday, June 18 through Sunday, August 10. Members are allowed to use the Aiken YMCA pool during the closure.  Please see the following regarding usage of the Y pool:

First Visit to the Y:

  1. Bring your USC Aiken Wellness Center membership key tag and photo ID.
  2. Stop at the desk at the Y and sign up for a "prospect membership", this is at no additional cost.
  3. You will be given a barcode that can be used to access the facility.

Usage of YMCA Pool:

  • Monday - Friday: 7 AM - 7 PM
  • Saturday: 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Sunday: 1 PM - 5 PM

Water Aerobics:

The majority of the classes will take place each week. The YMCA does have limited space, so there will be two lanes open for water aerobics. YMCA members may also join the classes.

Water Aerobics occurs on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The Wellness Center seeks to provide the university and the Aiken community with safe, well-equipped facilities and trained, caring staff. Located on the lower level of the Business and Education Building, the Center is open seven days a week. It houses a cardiovascular and strength training area, an aerobics room, an exercise testing laboratory, an educational room, and locker room facilities.

The Natatorium is adjoining the Student Activities Center. The pool is open Monday through Saturday for lifeguard-supervised activities, including lap swimming, water aerobics, and recreational activities. A competitive swim league also trains at the Natatorium. Locker room facilities are available.

Sponsorships

Intramurals consist of competitive and noncompetitive activities that students can engage in to stay physically active. The program is designed to offer a variety of challenging and enjoyable activities to every member of the student body. Activities include vigorous team sports such as flag football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball; competitive individual events such as table tennis and pool tournaments; and non-competitive recreational activities.

Club Sports are considered student organizations. They foster friendly competition with other campuses across the region. USCA has eight club sports organizations, including equestrian, swimming, and ping-pong. Clubs can be created by any USCA student interested in a specific competitive event.
