Understand the World to Change the World
Welcome to the Department of History, Political Science, and Philosophy at USCA. Whether you're passionate about learning from the past, understanding politics, or considering our world from an ethical perspective, our department offers a student-centered experience that prepares you for a lifetime of learning, leadership, and civic responsibility. Join us in exploring the past, shaping the present, and creating the future.
History
Investigate some of life’s biggest questions: What does it mean to be human? How do we understand people's lives in different places and times? How does the past influence our future? Through classes like “The Dead Speak,” independent research projects, and internships, you will work closely with faculty to develop core skills, build a strong resume, and find your place in the world.
Political Science
Navigate the intricate workings of governments, political systems, and international relations. Explore international relations, comparative politics, political theory, American government, and public policy to understand the structures and processes that govern societies and influence global affairs.
Pre-law
Prepare for a legal career through a pre-law minor, LSAT study groups, opportunities to meet local attorneys, and legal internships.
Choose your own path
