Early Warning
Information for Faculty and Teaching Staff
The Attendance and Early Warning Report System is a great way to notify students if you have concerns about their attendance, academic performance (including test grades and class participation), or if you'd like to encourage them to visit the Center for Student Achievement for a personalized academic consultation.
Early Warning reports are now submitted via Navigate. To log on to Navigate, please visit usca.campus.eab.com.
Submitting a report for your student is quick and easy! Just log on to Navigate and, click “Issue an Alert”, choose the reason, associated course (if applicable), add additional comments, and submit.
Early Warning Process
- Instructors submit an alert at usca.campus.eab.com.
- The student immediately receives an email that explains the instructor’s concerns and provides clear steps for scheduling academic support. Comments from instructors go only to the coach or advisor and are essential for effective support. Do not leave this section blank.
- If the instructor recommends a meeting with Student Success Staff, the Student Success Center will contact the student three business days after the alert if no appointment has been made. After another three business days without a response, the student receives a text reminder. If there is still no reply, the case is closed and the nonresponse is documented.
- When the Student Success Center contacts the student, staff update the notes in the early warning report. Faculty can view these updates in Navigate by selecting the student and choosing Staff Alerts.
- Faculty should follow up with students and the Student Success Center if they have additional questions or concerns.
Faculty and Staff members who have concerns about students can always contact the Center for Student Achievement at [email protected].
