Alumni Relations

The Office of Alumni Relations is always happy to discuss unique ways to help USCA alumni show their appreciation for the school, which means so much to all of us. Whether through traditional monetary donations, volunteering your time to help out on campus, coming out to cheer on a Pacer athletic team, watching a play at the Etherredge Center, or viewing the stars at the DuPont Planetarium, every alumnus and alumna can make a difference!

Below are a few ways to support the university through your time, experience, or resources. Some of these ideas require little time or effort but can benefit our alma mater tremendously. You can make a difference!

Student Involvement

• Help recruit future USCA students and encourage a prospective student to visit campus.
• Encourage your company/organization to participate in career fairs and to provide internships and jobs to USCA students and graduates.
• Volunteer to serve as a Mentor. Departments and programs occasionally need mentors for their students. Let us know if you are interested and have expertise.
• Write postcards to freshmen. We would like to encourage our new freshman by sending them positive notes throughout the year to their dorm rooms here on campus. We understand that a lot of them may be away from home for the first time and will need some additional encouragement. We will provide you with the cards and envelopes. Once they arrive back in our office, we will address them to each student and deliver to their mailboxes. 
• Serve on a career panel. We would love to have a list of alumni who would be willing to serve on career panels. This would be helpful for Career Services and also for the Deans of each college/school.

Attend or Host Events

• Encourage friends and classmates to attend Homecoming, or participate in the Golf Classic,
• Support Pacer Athletics. Attend and cheer loudly at games!
• Attend and promote USCA cultural activities such as theatrical performances, musical events, literary readings, lectures, and art gallery openings.
• Attend a USCA alumni event in your area. Take a fellow alum with you.
• Visit campus and stop by the Alumni Office in the Alumni House. You are always welcome at USCA!
• Take advantage of the many opportunities the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center provides.
• Host USCA alumni gatherings. Contact our Alumni Director if you want to host an event in your area.

Stay Connected and Stay Informed

• Share your achievements, marriages, births, and other news with us.
• Read our monthly e-newsletters and share them with a friend or prospective student.
• Stay educated about USCA; share what you know with others.
• Update Your Alumni Record online or by contacting us at (803) 641-3480, or [email protected]
• Identify future leaders for the Alumni Council or other alumni volunteer boards/councils.

Show your Pacer Spirit

• Wear Pacer clothing or display USCA memorabilia at home and work. USCA merchandise can be purchased at the Pacer Shoppe, USCA's Bookstore.
• Contact a former professor or staff member and say thanks for his/her teaching and mentoring.

Give Financially

• Contact our Advancement Office about giving opportunities or give online.
• Make a gift to the USCA Annual Fund, regardless of size, it helps.
• Identify potential donors for scholarships, endowments, and naming opportunities.
• Remember USCA in your will and estate plan.
