About the Minor in Theatre

Grounded in more than 2000 years of traditions and driven by new visions and technology, the UofSC Aiken Theatre Program is dedicated to giving students a comprehensive theatre education. Students explore all areas of theatre, both on and off stage.

A professionally active faculty, strong classes, internships, and a cutting-edge production program all help to prepare students for the theatre of the 21st century. The UofSC Aiken Theatre Program enriches the cultural life of the community through the presentation of a variety of theatrical productions. Various acting styles, design theories, and new technologies are studied in the classroom and applied to the department’s productions.

UofSC Aiken is an institutional member of the South Carolina Theatre Association, the Southeastern Theatre Conference, the Association of Theatre in Higher Education, and is an active participant in the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival.
