The freshman orientation program is designed for students who are 2019 high school graduates or who have graduated in the past few years. Transfer students who have earned less than 16 credits at another institution should also attend a freshman orientation program.
The orientation program for incoming freshmen is designed to assist you with your transition into your first year of college. The orientation program will consist of an introduction to your chosen academic program, computer support, informative sessions about campus procedures and policies, how to get involved in campus activities, opportunities to meet faculty, staff, and other new students, curriculum, academic support services, degree requirements, and registering for fall 2019 classes.

Freshman Convocation, on Wednesday, August 21, is the final event of orientation. Students will be introduced to faculty and staff and will learn what it means to be a member of the USC Aiken community. Freshman Convocation will be highlighted in the morning with a presentation by Renee Watson, who is the author of the freshman reading book Piecing Me Together. Students are encouraged to read the book before Freshman Convocation. The afternoon will consist of group orientation sessions, and the final event of the day will be a free student event in the evening with Sailesh, the Hypnotist.
