Vehicle Training Information

Department of Operations

The Department of Operations, Safety Office (3538), offers individual Fleet User Sessions (FUSS) designed for your needs, whether it be van, bus, truck, or automobile qualification.  We provide you with all the information you will need, including detailed information regarding the roadside assistance program (Auto Club), use of the Wright Express (WEX) Card, and defensive driving techniques. FUSS will outline procedures you need to follow should you experience an accident, mechanical breakdown, or other roadside emergencies while operating a University vehicle.

After going over the FUSS program, vehicle controls, and responses, you and the Safety Manager will take the bus and/or van out for a familiarity drive - be prepared!  Please bring your driving record to www.scdmvonline.com or your issuing state’s website.  You will also need to bring your driver's license and any questions you may have.  Please note a van driver must be at least 21, and a bus driver at least 18 years of age.  Altogether the training and qualification process takes 15-45 minutes.

The links below will take you to the FUSS vehicle training slideshow and the TS-100 form that is required to enroll in the fleet driving program.  Drivers who have attended an in-person FUSS are only required to submit the TS-100 form and an updated copy of their driving record.  These forms may be submitted electronically via email.
