The mission of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing, is to support the learning, knowledge, and professional development of nurses committed to make a difference in health worldwide.

The Pi Lambda chapter at USC Aiken embraces this mission. The chapter wishes to acknowledge and embrace new members of the chapter who have exhibited leadership, scholarship, and service to the organization, the profession, and the community.

Pi Lambda Excellence in Leadership, Scholarship, and Service Award

Sigma Induction

Since February 2008, Pi Lambda Chapter has provided a cash award to an outstanding new member of Pi Lambda.  The recipient is recognized and the award is presented each semester at the School of Nursing Pinning ceremony. 

For a student to be eligible to apply for this award, the student must meet specific criteria:

  • The applicant shall be an inducted and current member Pi Lambda chapter.
  • The applicant shall submit a completed application.
  • The applicant shall ask for a letter of support from a current member of Pi Lambda chapter.
  • The supporting member shall submit the letter of support/recommendation to the Awards Chair.

Both the application and the support letter will be considered when determining the recipient for this award. 

Eligible applicants will receive an application via email. Deadlines will be posted on the application.
