AIKEN, S.C. (June 10, 2025)—The University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA) has received a $10,000 gift from the Henry Middleton Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution to create a scholarship for students majoring in various disciplines.

With the gift, the scholarship will be established to provide an annual award of $1,000 to a rising junior or senior who is a full-time, degree-seeking student at USCA.

Margaret Davis, Henry Middleton Chapter regent, recently joined Vice Regent Maggi Howard and Scholarship Committee Co-Chairs Jo Ann Clayton-Reyna and Terry Harley at the USCA Alumni House to sign the gift agreement to establish the scholarship.

“The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution prides itself on promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism,” Davis said. “We are excited to further this mission through establishing a scholarship at USCA.”

Students must have a documented financial need and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; be a South Carolina resident and in academic and financial good standing with the university; and intend to major in Elementary or Secondary Education, Nursing, Medicine, History, Chemistry, Math or other Physical Science to be eligible to receive the scholarship. Preference will be given to a student who is a veteran and an active and engaged member of the USCA community.

The Henry Middleton Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution hopes to grow the scholarship and endow the fund.

If you want to contribute or learn more about the scholarship, please contact USCA Major Gift Officer Wesley Brown at (803) 641-3417 or [email protected].
