The University of South Carolina Aiken Scholarships are established through the generosity of individuals, organizations and the University community. These scholarships are designed to recognize qualities of leadership, merit and academic performance and to assist students in achieving their educational goals.

There is no application requirement for consideration for these scholarships.

Incoming Freshmen Scholarships

Incoming freshmen are considered for University Merit Awards. These awards vary in amount and can be renewed for an additional one to three years as long as the minimum requirements are maintained. Awards are based upon several factors which include high school grades, difficulty of curriculum, standardized test scores, and enrollment priorities of the University.

Deadline for Consideration

A student must submit the application for admission to USC Aiken by December 1st for priority consideration for these awards and by February 1st for final consideration. There is no separate scholarship application. The number of awards and the amount of funding is limited, and the awarding process is highly competitive.

Transfer Student Scholarships

USC Aiken has established a limited number of scholarships to be awarded to transfer students who have previously demonstrated superior academic performance. Information can be obtained by contacting the Transfer Counselor in the USC Aiken Office of Admissions at 803-641-3366.

Other Scholarships

All other University scholarships are awarded to both entering freshmen and upperclassmen. These awards vary in amount, and each have special criteria set up by the donor such as a certain residency, major, or career interest. The selection process is very competitive; not all students who meet eligibility criteria will receive a scholarship.
