Private Education Loans

Financial Aid

Private educational loans are education loans based on your credit history and income and should only be considered after your eligibility has been determined for all federal loans (Direct Loans and Direct PLUS), grants and scholarships. Interest rates for loans are determined by the lender based on the student and cosigner's credit worthiness. Students are advised to compare loan programs carefully before choosing a lender. Interest rates, fees and other provisions of these programs are subject to change.

Our office will work with any lender to process a private education loan. To ensure timely processing of your loan, it is extremely important to monitor your application once it is submitted to the selected lender. Each lender's process may vary, but each step must be completed before a disbursement is made to USC Aiken.
