Uncomfortable Conversations

Diversity Initiatives

Uncomfortable Conversations are open forum discussions that provide students the opportunity to take a deeper look at issues related to diversity, inclusion, equity, and marginalization through civil discourse that is provocative yet respectful and productive. Past Uncomfortable Conversations topics have included: Confederate Monuments in South Carolina, free speech vs hate speech, Halloween costumes and cultural appropriation, and DACA and its affect on students.

Free pizza is provided to those who attend these events.
