Front Entrance of UofSC Aiken

Office of the Chancellor

Leading the university forward

A welcome from Dr. Heimmermann

I could not be more excited to begin this upcoming academic year as I begin my role as Chancellor of the University of South Carolina Aiken.

I want to thank Dr. Sandra Jordan for leading UofSC Aiken over these last nine years. She is leaving an indelible mark on the university, and an institution in a position of financial strength. The Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative will be breaking ground in fall; the South Carolina National Guard has just signed the Dreamport lease; UofSC Aiken continues to achieve regional and national accolades; a wonderfully diverse and promising student body; staff who are outstanding ambassadors for the university; and an exceptional faculty dedicated to teaching, scholarly accomplishments and mentoring our students.

As the university celebrates its 60th Anniversary on September 10, I hope to build on the strategic vision and mission of the University of South Carolina Aiken. I am looking forward to meeting with all of you over these next few weeks and months, and to understand ways we can collaborate, develop, and lead the University of South Carolina Aiken into the next decade and beyond.
