Welcome

Academic Affairs

Welcome to the University of South Carolina Aiken’s Office of Academic Affairs!

We’re glad you “dropped in” to learn more about the interesting, dynamic and very relevant undergraduate and graduate degrees we offer (in 47 different programs of study).  I hope you will have a chance to visit our campus soon to learn more about these programs, all of which have a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences.

We are a university on the move!  We actively engage our students in the learning process by incorporating high-impact practices.  These include:  first-year experiences, writing-intensive courses, global learning, service learning, internships, and capstone courses.

USC Aiken also encourages students to conduct undergraduate research and scholarly activities.  Many of our students are conducting relevant research across all disciplines.  This includes genetic, conservation, nanofabrication, neurocognitive functions, comparative film studies, documentary production, and HIV research.  Undergraduates work closely with talented faculty who guide their research efforts, which often result in presentations at state, regional and national professional meetings as well as numerous publications in professional journals.  To learn more, visit our Center for Research Excellence.

From our first classes in 1961, USC Aiken has established itself as a university of excellence.  Since U.S. News and World Report began ranking institutions of higher education, USC Aiken has been listed in the top three every year, being ranked number one 13 times.  Additionally, our Veteran and Military Student Success Center is nationally recognized.  We are also a ‘green’ campus, and we have been recognized for our environmentally friendly practices.

If you want to challenge yourself further and broaden your experiences, consider applying to our honors program, leadership program, or study abroad program.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing more of our Pacer Pride with you.  To schedule a visit or for more information, please e-mail me at:  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
