Todd Jenkins, DME

Todd Jenkins is Director of Instrumental Studies at the University of South Carolina Aiken. At USCA, Professor Jenkins conducts the USCA Wind Ensemble, USCA Pacer Pulse Pep Band, the Aiken Concert Band, and the USCA New Horizons Concert Band. Additionally, Professor Jenkins is responsible for teaching classes in conducting, music technology, and music appreciation. He coaches chamber music and teaches private trumpet lessons to majors and non-majors.

A native of North Augusta, Mr. Jenkins studied music at the University of South Carolina, Ithaca College, and Liberty University (Doctor of Music Education, Fall 2023). Before joining the full-time faculty at the University of South Carolina Aiken, Todd taught 4-12th grade band at Augusta Christian School in Martinez, Georgia, and worked as adjunct faculty in the music departments at Augusta University and the University of South Carolina Aiken. Todd has also taught at Brevard College and Charleston Southern University and served on staff for the bands of Wando High School (Mount Pleasant, SC), The Charleston School of the Arts, Greenbrier High School (Evans, GA), and Washington-Wilkes High School (Washington, GA).

Apart from his duties at USCA, Todd serves on the music staff at Kiokee Baptist Church in Appling, Georgia, and performs as a trumpet player with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and the North Charleston Pops! Orchestra. He also performs with the Lyra Vivace Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the Charleston Symphony and the Kings Brass. Professor Jenkins maintains memberships in the National Association for Music Education, the International Trumpet Guild, the Association of Concert Bands, and the New Horizons International Music Association. He lives in North Augusta with his wife Kate (a professional trombonist), their young son (a hornist and pianist), and numerous pets.
