Karl Fornes earned his B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Dayton. He was hired by USCA as its first full-time writing center director in 1995 and served in that capacity until moving full-time into the more traditional classroom in 2004.
He teaches courses in the composition sequence and the professional writing minor, including Writing in the Workplace, Rhetorical Grammar, Argumentation, and the Nonfiction Workshop. He currently serves as the department's Internship Coordinator, supervising several external internships in the Aiken and Augusta area and pursuing new internship opportunities for English majors and professional writing minors.
His interest in collaborative writing within and outside of the classroom has evolved into an interest in writing with new technologies such as Web 2.0 platforms and social media.
