Student Programs Impact Data 2016-2017

RPSEC Student Programs for K-12 students had 35,939 program visits during the 2016-2017 school year. Of that total, 28,240 were K-12 students from 59 schools encompassing 14 public school districts in South Carolina and Georgia, as well as numerous private and home school groups. In addition, the center had a total of 1,678 teachers and 3,838 adult chaperone program visits for this school year. This year’s top 3 most popular programs included Magnets and Motions (2,173), Animals with Backbones (1,609 student visits), and In My Backyard (1,374 student visits).
USC Aiken, a comprehensive university in the University of South Carolina system, offers undergraduate and master’s degrees to more than 3,500 students in 50 programs of study. USC Aiken is ranked the #1 public regional college in the South by U.S. News & World Report’s guide "America’s Best Colleges." The 2017 distinction marks USC Aiken’s 19th consecutive ranking among the top three in this category and its 12th time in first place.
