Safety Reminder

May 11, 2017

Faculty and staff,

Since there is a break in classes I wanted to make everyone aware that this is a part of the year where crimes of opportunity typically increase against faculty/staff members. Take a few extra seconds to safeguard your valuables. Most thefts are crimes of opportunity so please lock your car doors and secure valuables in the trunk, ensure your office spaces are locked when unoccupied, and avoid leaving your valuables unattended.

We have had no crimes of this nature so far but I wanted to remind everyone to be aware of your surroundings and increase your mindfulness of suspicious activity or persons. If you have any concerns please contact our office at (803) 648-4011 [Emergency] or (803) 641-3319 [Non-Emergency]. Report any suspicious persons or activity to University Police.
