Need help managing your time or developing your study skills? The Center for Student Achievement offers academic consultations designed to assist students at any level. Students work individually with a professional staff member to improve time management skills, study skills, and organizational skills. Want to develop an academic plan? The Center for Student Achievement staff can help you develop an academic plan to ensure you are on the right track with your coursework. Visit our website to request an appointment.
Did you know USCA offers Free Tutoring? Tutoring is available on an individual basis to students experiencing difficulty in a specific subject area. Select the "Request a Tutor" link on our website and we try to match you with a tutor for your specific subject area. This service is free of charge to enrolled USC Aiken students.
Preparing your Writing Proficiency Portfolio or taking an English class next semester? If you are preparing your WPP or taking an English course next semester, visit the Writing Room in H&SS, Room 112! The mission of the Writing Room is to provide an open teaching and learning environment for the collaborative discussion of writing so that students may become more aware and independent writers. Writing consultants come from a range of disciplines and are formally trained to provide feedback during all phases of the writing process. The Writing Room hours for the summer are posted on our website. Remember that the spring deadline for the WPP is January 30, 2014.
Taking a Math class next semester? If you are taking a Math course next semester, visit the Math Lab, in Penland, Room 221. The mission of the Math Lab is to provide support for students enrolled in mathematics courses at USCA, and ultimately to enable students to be successful in the classes that use mathematics. This is accomplished by providing students with free peer tutoring in any freshman level and selected sophomore level mathematics classes, offering assistance with calculator skills and computer software used with the math classes, etc. The Math Lab hours are posted on our website.
